How to use trackback?
Posted by faq on 22nd September 2006
When used properly, trackbacks are an excellent way to build links and direct traffic to your blog, as well as building relationships with other bloggers. Most of the time a trackback is shown as a comment within a blog and then generates additional interest with the reader often choosing to view the link.
The Trackback feature is easy to use in Podbean.com by following these instructions.
For example, let us say that your blog is abc.podbean.com and you want to show one of your blog entrys/comments on the blog of xyz.podbean.com. You can easily do a trackback in 3 easy steps:
1: Go to xyz.podbean.com and find the blog post which you want to link to. Enter into this post and then scroll down the page until you see the words: You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site. Right click on the ‘trackback’ URL, then copy this either by using the ‘copy shortcut’ feature if using IE or in FireFox, using ‘copy link location’.
2: Then go to your blog, which for this example we have named abc.podbean.com and either choose to ‘Publish’ a new post or go to the ‘Manage’ section located in your main dashboard menu and then select to ‘Edit’ a post. At the bottom of the ‘Write Post’ page you will find a trackbacks section. Click on the + sign and then enter the URL that you copied into the ‘Send trackbacks to:’ section (as pictured below).

3: Publish your post and the moment you hit the ‘Publish’ button, the xyz.podbean.com site will then be notified. You can then check the blog post which you trackbacked at xyz.podbean.com and you should be able to see your abc.podbean.com entry in this websites comment section.
