How to set a static page as your site’s front page

Posted by faq on 29th April 2008

The Static FrontPage option allows a user to set a specific Page to be the Home Page. So rather than visiting your site and seeing a list of latest episodes(posts), the visitor can be presented with for example a nice introductory main page as to what your site or podcast is all about.

Before proceeding, make sure you have already created a page to use as the Front Page.

  1. From the menu, navigate to Settings-> Display
  2. Under Front Page Display, check the static page option.
  3. Select the page you would like to display from the Front page drop down.
  4. Optional: Select the Posts page that will list your most recent posts. Normally set this to a blank page because the page content will be populated with latest posts.

How to fix my Podcast site malformed layout?

Posted by faq on 29th October 2007

Podbean.com support users own html tags, thus html tags that you put in your post DO matters.

The most possible reason that your site get malformed is because of the mismatched <div> tags , such as, you put a open <div> tag without a closing </div> tag, or verse visa. A quick fix of this problem could be temporally removing your posts from your site one by one and check if your Podcast site looks normal after one post removed. If it gets normal, you know which post cause the problem. You then turn off the rich editor by check it off in “Settings” and edit the problem post to fix any malformed tags.

The second most possible reason is the oversized images. If one of your images width is larger than the post displaying area, your site will be malformed. This problem can be fixed by adding width in the image tag, such as, <img src=”…..”, width=”200”> </img>
